“Being a working artist has always been my dream. Since closing my painting company in 2022, art sales have allowed my dream to become a reality. Being a modern artist, the difficulty is to balance the challenge of creativity and the flow of commerce. Some of my favorite ideas and experiments have been a sales dud. Fortunately, a majority of the paintings communicate and are purchased. During the years I went to art school, in the seventies, the mantra was “just paint for yourself.” The idea, although romantic, in reality seems like a lone voice crying in the wilderness. I value the connection with the kind and good people that encourage and support me. I feel their love. When I see my work in an office, home, or hospital, this inspires me to keep painting with the purpose to brighten peoples’ day to day world! I heard a news commentator say, “the Arts explain life to people.” This resonated with me. Life has so many mysteries, musical pieces, books, movies, artworks, poems, etc. That enriches this time on Earth for all of us.”
