This exhibition explores the powerful intersection of heritage and innovation through the medium of wire. Featuring both the vibrant, recycled fencing wire weavings learnt in Zimbabwe and the avant-garde, three-dimensional line sculptures from American experiences, this collection demonstrates how a humble industrial material is transformed into objects of breathtaking cultural expression. Ideas from being born in Mutoko traditional homestead motifs to abstract American modernism, the pieces are a contrast between deeply rooted communal folk art and highly individualized spatial design.
Opening Reception: August 7, 5-7pm
Closing event: September 19, 6pm
