Soft Cells Exhibit

Soft Cells Exhibit by William Cannings was open September 9-October 25, 2014. By welding together flat steel forms and inflating them with air, Cannings creates dynamic pieces with the permanence of steel and the softer, gentler form of fabric: pillowing, folding, stretching, seemingly temporary. His sculpture captures the popularity of inflated objects in our culture, representing cheap, disposable, fleeting, and iconic fun. Originally from England, Cannings earned a BFA and MFA in the US.
