The Center for Contemporary Arts Summer ArtCamps are a multi-faceted endeavor designed to achieve wholesome educational recreation for youth ages 7-13, instill a sense of community service, build self-esteem by providing youth opportunities to create legacies to contribute to the community and create opportunities for inter-generation interaction.
This summer, we're offering four ArtCamps that students can attend either in-person OR virtually!

SUMMER 2021 CAMPS
Theatre ArtCamp: June 14-18, 10 AM-Noon
Instructor: Dr. Victoria Spangler, Sponsored by Elizabeth and Aaron Miller
Dr. Victoria Spangler will lead campers in assessing art displays and reimagining them through performance art. Campers will experiment with costumes, props, and sets, with a LIVE performance on the last day of camp! *Due to the nature of activities, this camp will be offered in-person ONLY
Found Object ArtCamp: June 21-25, 10 AM-Noon
Instructor: Cliff Wilke
Campers will learn the importance of being good stewards of our environment, reusing resources (that would otherwise be discarded), in imaginative and innovative ways, and create works of art to be proud of! *This camp is offered in-person OR virtually.
Photo ArtCamp: June 28 - July 2, 10 AM-Noon
Instructor: Jennnifer Nichols
Campers will learn basic skills of photography, enjoy a downtown excursion, and a photo safari at the Abilene Zoo! *Due to the nature of activities, this camp will be offered in-person ONLY
Creative Painting ArtCamp: July 5-9, 10 AM-Noon
Instructor: Manny De Los Santos
Paint on multiple surfaces, not just canvas! Students will experience different techniques and media in the tradition of painting. *This camp is offered in-person OR virtually
