ASDS now only meets every 2nd Thursday of the month and we are now accepting memberships (pick up a form at the meeting). Lila Senter book benefiting Abilene Hope Haven

Lila Senter’s new (and first) book, The Gift, benefitting Abilene Hope Haven, will be available during Art Walk in front of the United Way offices. Senter has been recognized for some time in Abilene for her involvement in the community and participation in various organizations. Now, she is a published author. For 26 years Senter has written poems and shared word gifts each Christmas with family and friends. She has compiled these into The Gift, a book illustrated by equally well-known local artists and photographers. The cover was designed by H. C. Zachry. Publishing costs have been underwritten by a local foundation. A minimum donation of $15 and the fact that the selections were originally given as Christmas gifts, make this a perfect item for Christmas shoppers. All proceeds from The Gift will benefit Abilene Hope Haven, one of the local non-profit organizations supported by Lila Senter and her family. Proceeds will establish an endowment fund to help Hope Haven continue its mission to cure homelessness, one person at a time. The Gift will also be available through Abilene Hope Haven, 677-4673.
