GALLERIES AND MUSEUMS

The Center for Contemporary Arts, 220 Cypress St.

Jane Adams Breed Gallery:
Close at Hand by Charlie Hukill, Mike Massey and Tony Berry. This collection of work features a compelling style of portraiture, on-site watercolor painting, and sensual, textured ceramics. This show offers a glimpse into the personal and emotional experience of friendship and family.

Gallery 2: Samples of Society by Hal Samples - Hal Samples is a photographer out of Dallas, Texas whose mission is to help others find joy through the power of serving others. His images reflect the life and beauty we all seek in each other and in the world around us.

Gallery 3: Murray and Clevenger, Together Again by Linda Murray and Sarabeth Clevenger. This dynamic exhibit focuses on the environment and the self-conscious. An energetic grace exhibited in each of the pieces prompts the viewer to receive a poignant message. This show exhibits the contrast between control and release.

Gallery 4: Sunburn by Chris McCaw. Chris McCaw's one-of-a-kind images are created using an alternative process in which he uses long exposures to solarize the photo paper in his handmade large format cameras. Most of the prints are literally "sunburned" as the camera tracks the path of the sun during the exposure.

Conference Room: Heart Gallery - The Heart Gallery exists to raise awareness about children who are available for adoption. The Texas Department of Family and Protective Services has joined hands with local photographers to give these children hope for the future. Local photographers have donated their time and talent to capture the spirit of these children from Abilene and 60 surrounding counties.
