Application Requirements for Artist Member Levels

The Signature Artist Member exhibits masterful design, technique and creativity in their work. These qualities must be consistent in all submitted work. Each candidate must provide the membership committee with the following:

1) Slides or digital submissions of 20 or more works. At least ten of these submissions must be of works completed within two years of the candidate’s application; the remainder may be of any past works.
2) A resume containing work, exhibition, and education history.
3) A brief vita with autobiographical information.
4) An artist statement.
5) A valid sales tax identification number.

 

The Artist Member exhibits strong potential in their principal medium through their submitted work. Each candidate must provide the membership committee with the following:

1) 10 examples of their work, this may be in the form of slides, photographs or digital images on CD ROM, all must have been completed within the last four years.
2) A resume containing work, exhibition, and education history.
3) A brief vita with autobiographical information.
4) An artist statement.
5) A valid sales tax identification number, unless the artist certifies that he or she does not plan to sell works of art.

 

The Student Artist Member exhibits good design and evident potential in their principal medium through their submitted work. Each candidate must provide the membership committee with the following:

1) Five examples of their work, this may be in the form of slides, photographs, or digital images on CD ROM or originals.
2) A resume containing work, exhibition, and education history.
3) Two letters of reference from professors and/or community leaders.
4) An artist statement.

 

The Emeritus Artist Member has exhibited good design and mastery of their principal medium in their work done as a member at the Center. This honorary candidate is elected by a majority of the entire signature artist membership.
